Dubai Safari Park, home to over 3,000 animals from 250 species, will close its gates on June 1 for seasonal upgrades. However, before the park shuts down for the summer, visitors have a chance to experience a wild adventure and participate in special events and interactive experiences.
- Special events and interactive experiences
- Meet and greet with the park’s iconic residents, such as Dalia the giraffe and Digit the gorilla
- Animal encounters and feeding sessions
- Junior Ranger programme for younger visitors
- Safari Adventure and air-conditioned shuttle train rides across six unique zones
The park will return with new activations and enhanced guest experiences when Season Seven opens on October 14. Head of Specialised Parks and Recreational Facilities at Dubai Municipality, Ahmad AlKhoori, said, “This is the last chance to meet their animal friends before we close.”
The Onyx Birthday Bash
One of the biggest highlights before closure is expected to be the first birthday celebration of Onyx, the park’s beloved baby rhino born last year. Onyx captured the hearts of thousands, with over 18,000 people participating in a public campaign to name him. The upcoming birthday bash promises to be a grand affair, drawing attention to the park’s ongoing conservation efforts – a theme celebrated during Save the Rhino Day on May 1.
“ Yes, of course. We will be announcing it soon. I love him. He is my favourite,”
Ahmad AlKhoori, Head of Specialised Parks and Recreational Facilities at Dubai Municipality
The park’s conservation efforts are a major draw, with guests able to enjoy a range of activities that promote wildlife and conservation. Guests can enjoy the park’s air-conditioned shuttle train rides across six unique zones, as well as indoor exhibits and the air-conditioned safari experience, ensuring a comfortable visit even during warmer days.
Supporting a Cause
In a new initiative, the park announced that a portion of all admission revenues will now directly support wildlife rescue, care, and research, further cementing its role as a serious player in global conservation efforts. “Each visit to the park doesn’t just mean entertainment – it’s a way to contribute to wildlife conservation,” said Ahmad AlKhoori.
